On World AIDS Day, join MoMENtum and ICARE in a forum discussion of the past and present history of HIV/AIDS in our community. Know your history, don't let it repeat.

The event is organized by Johnson County Public Health, ICARE , Connections , and SNPHA - a UI student pharmacy group, to raise awareness around HIV/AIDS by engaging participants in a community conversation.

Brief Synopsis

Attendance:  40 (including panelist)

Topics covered: ICARE services, HIV testing, Iowa HIV epidemiology, treatment options and guidelines (past and present), future drugs, social stigma of being HIV+, workplace descrimination, the importance of support networks, reactions to disclosing, HIV criminalization,  and health and life insurance issues
